Job summary

The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum (CBMM) invites applications for a part-time School-Age Educator. The role focuses on delivering school-age programs for PK-12 students and fostering a positive learning environment on CBMM’s 18-acre campus, with opportunities to support teacher workshops and various youth activities.

Candidates should have a degree in education or related field and experience teaching children.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching children in formal or informal settings.
• Ability to foster positive relationships with students and colleagues.
• Familiarity with Common Core and Maryland State Curriculum standards preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver school-age programs at CBMM and in classrooms.
• Greet and orient school groups to campus to facilitate learning.
• Assist with school-age outreach including teacher workshops and Educator Open Houses.
• Support other children’s programming, including classes, camps, and CBMM festivals.
• This part-time, hourly role requires a flexible schedule Monday through Friday during school days.
