Mortenson is seeking an Ironworker I to mark, position, and secure structural steel members to reinforce concrete or building structures. The role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least four years of related experience, plus a valid driver’s license and strong teamwork.

You will work closely with crane operators and other trades on busy construction sites. Heavy lifting, safety compliance, and effective communication are essential to succeed in this role at Mortenson.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 4 years of related experience.
• Must have passed Apprentice Aptitude Test.
• Ability to read safety regulations and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Set up, flag, and inspect a crane; inspect rigging properly.
• Mark, position, and secure structural steel members.
• Shake out rebar and tie intersections with tie wire.
• Cut excess rebar ends with gas cut saw or torch.
• Install mechanical rebar splices and caps on vertical rebar dowels.
