Job summary

Mortenson Construction is seeking an Ironworker I to mark, position, and secure structural steel members to reinforce concrete or building structures. The role requires crane setup, rigging inspection, rebar work, and alignment of components for nacelle, hub, and tower preparation.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, at least four years of related experience, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 4+ years of related experience.
• Must have passed the Apprentice Aptitude Test.
• Current driver’s license.
• Strong teamwork, positive attitude, customer service, detail orientation, and effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Set up, flag, and inspect crane; inspect rigging.
• Verify deliveries against bill of lading; direct forklift/crane to unload.
• Shake out rebar and tie intersections with pliers.
• Cut excess rebar with gas cut saw or torch.
• Install rebar splices by bolting or welding; cap vertical dowels.
• Receive and offload major components; prep nacelle, hub, and tower.
• Connect blades to hub; set base and tower sections; handle taglines.
• Climb ladders and work with diverse teams.
• All other duties as assigned.
