Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an Ironworker I to mark, position and secure structural steel members to reinforce concrete or building structures, supporting safe and efficient construction practices on site. You will climb ladders, inspect rigging, assist with rebar tying and splices, coordinate with teams, and follow safety regulations and project procedures to keep the work moving smoothly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum four years of related experience.
• Must have passed the Apprentice Aptitude Test.
• Current driver’s license.
• Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, operation manuals, and procedures; basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up, flag, and inspect a crane; inspect rigging properly.
• Check in truck deliveries against bill of lading; direct forklift/crane to unload delivery truck.
• Shake out rebar and tie intersections with tie wire.
• Cut excess rebar ends with gas cut saw or torch.
• Install mechanical rebar splices and caps on vertical dowels; safety first.
• Receive and offload major components; install loose components for nacelle, hub, and tower prep.
• Connect blades to hub; set base and tower sections; handle taglines.
• Climb ladders; work with diverse teams; uphold safety and procedures.
