Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company is seeking skilled ironworkers to layout, fabricate and install structural steel components. You will read blueprints, cut, weld and fit steel members, and assist with hoisting operations on-site.

Responsibilities include verifying alignment, handling loads safely, and working with cranes and rigging. This role requires physical stamina and adherence to safety protocols on construction sites in the Texas area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with experience in the field or related area.
• Working knowledge/abilities for the position.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate with management/supervision.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools and layout tools.

Responsibilities

• Reads specifications or blueprints to determine locations, quantities, or sizes of material required.
• Fabricates metal parts, such as steel frames, columns, beams, or girders, per blueprints or supervisor instructions.
• Unloads and positions prefabricated steel units, hoists beams/girders/columns into place with cranes or signals operators.
• Verifies alignment of structural steel members using plumb bobs, lasers, transits or levels.
• Cuts, bends, or welds steel pieces using shears, torches, or welding equipment.
• Forces structural steel members into final positions with turnbuckles, crowbars, jacks, or hand tools.
• Moves structural steel members into approximate positions for bolting in place.
• Bolts aligned members for permanent riveting, bolting, or welding in place.
• Assembles hoisting equipment or riggings to move heavy equipment or materials.
