Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company is seeking skilled labor for structural steel erection and related assembly tasks in an on-site setting. The position requires reading blueprints, aligning steel members, and coordinating with crane operations to ensure safe, precise installation on industrial projects.

The role involves lifting, welding, and bolting structural components under supervisor guidance, while maintaining safety standards on site.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; prior field experience preferred.
Must understand and follow written and oral instructions and communicate with supervision.
Ability to safely operate tools and read blueprints and specs.

Responsibilities

Reads blueprints/specs to determine locations, quantities, and sizes of materials.
Fabricates metal parts such as frames, columns, beams, or girders per blueprints.
Unloads and positions prefabricated units; hoists beams into place with cranes and signals.
Verifies alignment using plumb bobs, lasers, transits or levels.
Cuts, bends or welds steel pieces with torches or welding equipment.
Positions structural members and bolts for permanent rivets, bolts or welds.
Assembles hoisting equipment and riggings to move heavy materials.
Estimates sizes, distances, and quantities; assesses time, costs and resources.
Inspects subordinate work for compliance with plans and specs.
