Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Redondo Beach, CA, seeks a Systems Engineering Manager 3 – IPT Lead to head the SEIT IPT across Mission Systems Engineering, Space Vehicle Systems Engineering, and Payload Systems Engineering. This role drives integrated system design from definition through delivery and coordinates with the Chief Engineer and element leads.

The position requires an active Top Secret clearance and extensive systems engineering leadership on complex space programs, with demonstrated experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience OR
• Master's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience OR
• PhD with 4+ years of relevant experience
• Candidate must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance and SCI access
• Extensive systems engineering experience on space-related programs
• Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams and managing interfaces

Responsibilities

• Lead the SEIT IPT with prioritized, accountable execution.
• Provide system-level leadership across MSE, SVSE, and PLSE.
• Ensure requirements are decomposed, allocated, traced, and verified.
• Oversee external interfaces and establish closure plans.
• Lead verification and validation planning, readiness, and evidence integration.
• Communicate IPT status, risks, and actions to leadership and customers.
