Job summary

Swoop is seeking a Director of Technical Accounting & SEC Reporting to lead our technical accounting function in a high-growth, privacy-focused healthcare engagement platform. You will own complex accounting positions, oversee SEC filings, and partner with Legal, FP&A, HR to ensure IPO readiness and robust financial reporting.

Qualifications

• CPA required with Big 4/public company experience preferred.
• 8+ years of total accounting experience including SEC reporting.
• IPO experience is preferred.
• Expert knowledge of US GAAP (including ASC 606) and SEC regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the company’s technical accounting function — research, document, and operationalize accounting positions for complex transactions.
• Prepare and review SEC filings, including 10-Qs, 10-Ks, 8-Ks, and the S-1.
• Partner cross-functionally with Legal, FP&A, HR to drive IPO readiness and reporting milestones.
• Draft technical memos, reporting schedules, and key disclosures, especially in early stages.
• Own all financial reporting, including lender reporting.
• Build and scale a high-performing team with scalable processes and controls.
• Interface with external auditors and own technical accounting matters.
• Drive adoption and implementation of new accounting standards and internal policies.
• Support SOX readiness and internal controls over financial reporting.
