Job summary

Braveheart Bio in the United States seeks a Director of SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting to lead SEC reporting operations, internal controls, and related memos for a fast-moving biotechnology public company.

You will own 10-Qs/10-Ks, annual proxy, equity compensation, ASC 718, ASC 740, and manage external audits while building scalable finance infrastructure with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• CPA required; public accounting background preferred.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SEC reporting, internal controls (SOX).
• Technical accounting expertise including ASC 718 and ASC 740.
• Experience managing Big 4 audits.
• IPO experience preferred.
• Ability to build finance infrastructure in biotech IPO.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the preparation and filing of 10-Qs/10-Ks and annual proxy in accordance with US GAAP and SEC requirements.
• Develop and maintain SEC reporting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Manage external audit relationships and lead audit readiness processes.
• Own accounting for equity compensation (ASC 718), income tax (ASC 740), and other technical accounts.
• Review new contracts for proper accounting treatment and coordinate with FP&A for budgeting.
• Prepare or supervise external specialists in technical accounting memos.
• Administer the Company’s equity plan(s) including onboarding, grants, modifications, and terminations.
• Manage annual income tax requirements and liaise with external tax providers.
• Assist in quarterly Disclosure Committee and Audit Committee communications.
• Implement and optimize equity administration systems (E-TRADE/EEO).
• Assist in hiring and developing a small, high-performing accounting and finance team.
