Job summary

Renew Home is seeking a detail-oriented Director of Accounting to own the financial reporting process and payroll oversight. You will bridge operational accounting and high-level financial reporting while ensuring US GAAP compliance, SOX controls, and IPO readiness.

You will lead technical accounting for ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 805, manage outsourced payroll and intercompany activities, and partner with FP&A and HR to drive process improvements across the finance organization.

Qualifications

• CPA (active license) and bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• Renewable energy industry experience.
• 10–15+ years of progressive accounting experience; Big 4 or tier II audit required; M&A experience a plus.
• Strong US GAAP knowledge, SOX compliance, and IPO readiness.
• Experience leading offshore teams and collaborating with FP&A, HR, and operations to optimize automated processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical accounting assessments for new standard implementations and draft auditor-ready policies (ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 805).
• Collaborate with FP&A to ensure GL coding and department allocations; drive process improvements.
• Prepare intercompany entries with outsourced teams; ensure Tax and US GAAP alignment.
• Review quarterly debt covenants and assist in audited financial statements and investor reporting.
• Oversee stock-based compensation accounting, including valuation and grant-date fair value.
• Own payroll GL mapping in Rippling; manage month-end close and payroll journal entries; oversee payroll tax registrations.
