Job summary

Braveheart Bio in San Francisco is seeking a Director of SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting to lead SEC reporting for a fast-moving biotech IPO and manage related internal controls.

Reporting to the VP of Finance, you will own 10-Q/10-K, proxy, equity compensation, tax accounting, and coordinating with auditors, legal, and HR as the company scales a high-growth stage. You will mentor a small team and implement scalable processes.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in finance/accounting with public company exposure.
• CPA required; public accounting background preferred.
• Strong SEC reporting, ASC 718, ASC 740, SOX experience.
• IPO experience preferred.
• Ability to build finance infrastructure for biotech IPO.

Responsibilities

• Prepare 10-Q/10-K and proxy filings on SEC deadlines with GAAP compliance.
• Develop SEC reporting policies and scalable internal controls.
• Manage external audits and readiness processes.
• Own equity compensation (ASC 718) and income tax (ASC 740) accounting.
• Review contracts for proper accounting and coordinate with FP&A.
• Oversee equity plan administration and coordination with legal/HR.
• Assist in hiring and developing a small accounting team.
