Job summary

JOHN LEONARD in Boston is seeking an IP Trademark Paralegal with 2+ years of experience to manage trademark docketing, filing deadlines, and post-registration maintenance for domestic and international matters. You will prepare U.S. applications, respond to Office Actions, and coordinate with foreign counsel on Madrid Protocol filings.

Strong knowledge of U.S. trademark prosecution, TTAB proceedings, and domain name disputes is required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of trademark paralegal experience, including U.S. trademark prosecution and TTAB proceedings.
• Bachelor's degree required; paralegal certificate preferred.
• Experience with trademark and copyright research tools, and domain name matters.
• Proficiency with MS Office and document management systems (iManage, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Manage trademark docketing, filing deadlines, and post-registration maintenance to ensure timely compliance.
• Prepare and file U.S. trademark applications, Office Action responses, and documents for appeals, oppositions, and cancellations.
• Coordinate international trademark filings and communications with foreign counsel (Madrid Protocol).
• Support copyright and domain name matters, including disputes and arbitration research.
• Conduct trademark clearance searches, availability analyses, and ownership research using USPTO and other databases.
• Maintain records and communicate deadlines to attorneys and clients.
