About the Role

Integreon is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented IP Trademark Attorney to support trademark clearance, watch assessments, enforcement strategy, EU opposition and coexistence matters, and trademark prosecution across the United States, Canada, and the European Union, for our client.

This role is suited to an attorney with strong trademark analysis and drafting skills who can independently handle routine matters, apply established legal guidelines and precedents, and identify complex or higher‑risk issues requiring further escalation.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with trademark paralegals and other legal professionals to deliver practical, consistent, and commercially focused advice in support of international trademark portfolios and brand protection initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
Trademark Clearance
  • Review and assess trademark search and clearance reports prepared by paralegals.
  • Conduct first‑level trademark clearance analyses, including likelihood‑of‑confusion assessments.
  • Evaluate potential conflicts and identify relevant legal and commercial considerations.
  • Escalate complex, borderline, or higher risk matters for further review.
Trademark Watch Assessments & Enforcement Strategy
  • Review escalated trademark watch notices and assess potential conflicts with existing trademark rights.
  • Evaluate enforcement options in accordance with established guidelines, precedents, and client objectives.
  • Recommend appropriate next steps, including enforcement action, continued monitoring, or further escalation.
  • Prepare structured pre‑opposition assessments outlining relevant risks, legal considerations, and recommended actions.
EU Opposition & Coexistence
  • Draft initial cease‑and‑desist letters based on established enforcement strategies and applicable legal precedents.
  • Prepare first‑level EU trademark opposition arguments using approved templates, precedents, and supporting legal analysis.
  • Draft initial trademark coexistence agreements for attorney review and further negotiation.
  • Identify substantive legal issues, strategic considerations, and proposed deviations requiring additional review.
  • Draft initial responses to routine, non‑complex trademark office actions in the United States, Canada and the European Union.
  • Apply relevant trademark laws, office practices, and established precedents when preparing draft responses.
  • Incorporate attorney feedback and revise drafts into final, approved responses.
  • Coordinate approved responses and supporting documentation for timely filing with the appropriate trademark offices or local counsel.
Qualifications
  • Licensed attorney in good standing in at least one relevant jurisdiction; additional qualifications or experience in the United States, Canada, or the European Union are an advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience in trademark law, including clearance, prosecution, enforcement, or portfolio management.
  • Strong understanding of trademark distinctiveness, likelihood of confusion, and conflict assessment.
  • Experience reviewing trademark search reports and assessing watch notices.
  • Familiarity with EU trademark opposition procedures and coexistence agreements.
  • Experience drafting routine trademark office action responses and legal correspondence.
  • Strong legal research, analytical, drafting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to apply templates and established precedents while exercising independent legal judgment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a remote, international environment.
