University of Maryland, College Park seeks an Intellectual Property Associate to support UM Ventures in protecting intellectual property by reviewing invention disclosures, drafting patent prosecution documents, and monitoring database accuracy to ensure deadlines are met.

The role reports to the Assistant Director, Operations and requires a Bachelor’s degree and at least one year of related drafting experience in IP.

Competenze

• Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• One year of professional experience drafting, editing, and preparing patent prosecution documents.
• Knowledge of federal intellectual property law and policies.
• Knowledge of procedures and regulations of the patent prosecution process.
• Skill in oral and written communication and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Mansioni

• Maintain IP protection by reviewing invention disclosures, drafting and preparing documentation, and monitoring the database to satisfy deadlines.
• Support IP activities under the supervision of the Assistant Director, Operations.
