Aspiring IP opportunities in a leading AmLaw 50 firm seek a Patent Agent to join the Intellectual Property - Patents Practice in a Hybrid role. Qualifications include a technical degree and 2+ years of patent preparation and prosecution experience, with advantageous exposure to data science, ML, AI, and related fields.

The role offers collaboration with top attorneys, mentorship, and exposure to patent drafting, prosecution, and strategic counseling across global clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Physics with excellent academic record.
• 2+ years of substantive patent preparation and prosecution experience.
• Experience in data science, ML, AI, wireless communications, sensors, semiconductors, IoT, optics or related fields advantageous.
• Strong MS Office proficiency and excellent analytical, organizational, and writing skills.

Responsabilités

• Work with inventors and attorneys to prepare and prosecute patent applications in emerging technology areas.
• Identify inventions through technical discussions with inventors.
• Perform novelty and clearance searches to delineate inventions from existing technologies.
• Draft comprehensive patent applications and negotiate the scope of patent rights with the USPTO.
• Prepare reports and support documentation for patent portfolio management.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's degree orhigher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics with an excellent academic record
• 2+ years of substantive experience in patent preparation and prosecution
• Experience in data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, wireless communications, sensors, semiconductors, Internet of Things,optics, or related fields is highly advantageous
• Working proficiency in Microsoft Office software
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and writing skills, with an exceptional attention to technical detail and effective organizational and communication skills

Key Responsibilities

• Work with inventors and attorneys to prepare and prosecute patent applications in emerging technology areas
