Job summary

Bluebird Fiber is seeking a Network Engineer I to join a collaborative team. This full-time, benefit-eligible role focuses on engineering, provisioning, and Tier II technical support for IP/MPLS networks across the Bluebird backbone.

The team values proactive problem solving and strong communication in a fast-paced environment. The role requires experience in telecommunications environments, documentation discipline, and the ability to coordinate test and turn-up activities for new customer

Qualifications

5–7 years in Telecommunications/Optical Transport environment or equivalent training.
Flexible work hours including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Valid state driver’s license.
Self-motivated with ability to make independent decisions per policies and project requirements.
Strong knowledge of PC and software applications.

Responsibilities

Provide engineering support for project management and implementation of Bluebird’s IP/MPLS network.
Document network configurations, CLR/DLRs, Work Orders, and OSS databases.
Coordinate procurement, provisioning, and test/turn-up scheduling for new customer installations.
Support Business Development and Sales in product/service development.
Provide 24/7 Tier II technical support via on-call rotation for major platforms.
