Job summary

LPM Institute in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Paralegal Assistant to support IP litigation attorneys with client file management and matter oversight.

The role reports to the Senior IP Administrator and involves day-to-day direction from attorneys and paralegals in the Intellectual Property & Technology Division. Important qualifications include ABA-approved paralegal training or equivalent, 1 year of in-house experience OR 2–5 years of law-related work, and strong organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Completion of an ABA-approved Paralegal program or equivalent training.
• One year of in-house training as a Paralegal Assistant or Paralegal OR 2–5 years of law-related experience.
• Compliance with ABA guidelines for paralegal programs and strong command of essential paralegal skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate file intake and matter entry in tracking system for new clients.
• Participate in the entire life cycle of multiple cases from inception to close.
• Monitor and track case progression; calendar deadlines and milestones.
• Prepare documents for filings, depositions, hearings and trial.
• Attend depositions and hearings; manage court filings.
• Maintain organized case files and databases; ensure timely information sharing.
• Support billing with time entry and related administrative tasks.
• Collaborate with attorneys, staff, and outside vendors to support trial teams.

Associate of Arts degree
