Job summary

Polsinelli PC in Washington, DC is seeking an experienced marketing and business development professional to support the Intellectual Property, Life Sciences and Technology departments. The specialist will collaborate with department leadership and firm-wide teams to deepen client relationships, increase market visibility, and drive firm growth.

The role requires coordination of marketing programs, events, proposals, content updates, thought leadership, and market intelligence across practice

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; 4+ years in marketing/business development in a legal or professional services setting preferred.
• Experience supporting IP, Life Sciences, Technology practices or industries encouraged.
• Strong professionalism, market insight, and ability to translate trends into strategy.
• Creative, proactive thinker who generates value and executes ideas from concept to delivery.
• Excellent project management, multitasking, and ownership of projects end-to-end.
• Responsive, diplomatic communication with clients and stakeholders; collaborative with executives and attorneys.

Responsibilities

• Develop deep understanding of practice groups, attorneys, industry focuses and client base to expand relationships and brand awareness.
• Support development and execution of business development programs, events, and strategies with Senior Department Marketing Manager.
• Assist RFP and pitch responses, including materials drafting and proposal tracking.
• Leverage firm data for client targeting, segmentation, and opportunity analysis.
• Ensure marketing content is accurate and up to date across websites, bios, and materials.
• Coordinate internal and client-facing events, including budgets, logistics, and targeted outreach.
• Drive thought leadership initiatives including eAlerts, newsletters, and rankings submissions.
• Collaborate across departments to align priorities, pricing, conflicts, recruiting, and operations.
• Draft content for surveys, directories, awards and rankings, securing client permissions and references.
• Track and analyze knowledge management data to support pitches and market positioning.
• Monitor client contacts in InterAction; assist with budget and expense processing; deliver competitive/market analysis with Research & Intelligence.
• Develop reports on marketing activities to measure engagement and outcomes; perform other duties as assigned.
