Job summary

shook-careers seeks an experienced IP Docketing Specialist to join our team. The role focuses on processing patent documents and communications to manage daily docketing across US and international timelines.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate's degree with at least two years in patent/trademark docketing, knowledge of PAIR and other IP systems, and strong attention to detail to meet deadlines for clients and attorneys.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree and at least two years of patent and trademark docketing experience.
• Working knowledge of US and foreign patent and trademark procedures, deadlines, and prosecution rules.
• Experience with Intellectual Property docketing software systems, PAIR and other international systems.

Responsibilities

• Calendaring dates and maintaining docketing records.
• Generating docket reports and client reporting letters; coordinating with attorneys, foreign counsel, and clients.
• Creating new domestic and foreign patent and trademark files and entering case information and deadlines.
• Providing feedback to improve docketing processes and guidelines.
• Assisting with transfer, conversion, and portfolio merge projects.
• Assisting with payment of annuities and confirming accuracy of payments.
• Working independently to resolve docketing anomalies and research as needed.
• Staying current with IP docketing best practices and system updates.
