Job summary

Milwaukee Tool seeks an IP Docketing Manager in Brookfield to lead docketing initiatives, ensure data integrity, and drive process improvements. This hands-on leadership role combines docketing expertise with strong people management to mentor staff and manage complex inquiries.

You will develop policies, monitor IP prosecution rule changes, and produce actionable metrics for department leadership. Collaboration with attorneys, agents, vendors, and IT is essential to elevate our docketing

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of comprehensive docketing experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. and foreign patent and trademark prosecution.
• Proficiency with IP docketing/management systems (e.g., CPI, PATTSY, Anaqua, or similar).
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-directed, self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams).
• Ability to train and coach others and design training materials.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day operations of the IP docket work and respond to inquiries from the IP Team.
• Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and consistency of all docketing.
• Lead and manage docketing staff and training programs.
• Maintain written docketing policies and monitor rule changes.
• Generate docketing metrics and present findings to leadership.
• Coordinate onboarding and training for agents, attorneys, and professionals.
• Design and oversee reports on portfolios, renewals, and special items.
• Maintain and upgrade the IP docket database in coordination with IT.
