Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. in Portland, OR seeks a Production Engineer to support investment casting through dimensional and metallurgical engineering, process optimization, and tool development.

You will lead root-cause analyses, implement cost-reduction projects, review drawings and specs, and collaborate with Quality, Sales, Planning, and Manufacturing to meet schedule and quality goals.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• Broad knowledge of mechanical, industrial, materials science engineering and investment casting.
• Experience with engineering principles, manufacturing processes, statistics and reporting.
• Experience using Solidworks, GD&T, statistical programs, and Excel.
• Strong written and verbal communication across organizational levels.

Responsibilities

• Identify and correct engineering problems impacting production.
• Perform hands-on manufacturing process review and root cause analysis.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing tools and procedures.
• Conduct cost reduction projects and rework plans for non-conforming product.
• Review drawings, specifications, and changes for impact.
• Coordinate with Quality, Sales, Planning, Manufacturing, and production personnel.
• Possibly supervise other engineers or technicians on projects.
• Participate in concurrent engineering with customers.
