Job summary

Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes is seeking a Warehouse Inventory Clerk to assist the Finance Department with inventory accounting, receiving, processing, recording, and distributing supplies. The role includes data entry, warehouse order picking, and daily cycle counts to ensure accuracy and timely delivery.

The position requires a high school diploma and at least one year of related experience, a Montana driver’s license, and forklift certification or ability to obtain it.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of related experience.
• Valid Montana driver’s license with no alcohol convictions in last 3 years; willingness to travel for training.
• Forklift Operator certification required or ability to obtain certification.
• Strong knowledge of inventory/stock control, shipping/receiving, and basic spreadsheet design.

Responsibilities

• Receive all incoming freight promptly, verify quantity and condition, note shortages or damages, contact vendor for issues, and trace backorders for timely delivery.
• Process invoices for goods and services, verify dollar amounts and quantities, obtain proper sign-off before payment.
• Enter data accurately and fulfill warehouse orders; perform daily cycle count activities as directed by supervisor.

Job description

This position is an integral part of the Finance Department and will assist the department in proficiently maintaining the warehouse. The position is responsible for accurate inventory accounting, including receiving, processing, recording, and distributing supplies and materials; performing various clerical duties, including data entry and warehouse order picking. The position will exercise judgment and have responsibility for results. Work activities include, but are not limited to, the following: Receives all incoming freight promptly, verifying the quantity and condition of shipments, noting shortages, damage, or backorders, contacting the shipping company or vendor to report damages or shortages, and tracing items that are on backorder to ensure timely delivery. Responsible for promptly receiving incoming invoices for goods and services, verifying dollar amounts and correct quantities are received as per invoice. Obtains proper sign-off on all services to ensure complete and total satisfaction before receipt is issued for payment. Responsible for complete and accurate computer entry and warehouse picking when fulfilling items requested on service orders. Conducts cycle count activities daily as directed by supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduate or equivalent and at least one (1) year of experience in related field. Must have a current, valid Montana Driver's license with no alcohol related convictions for the last three years and be willing to travel out of the area for training. Forklift Operator certification is required or the ability to obtain certification is required. Thorough knowledge of inventory/stock control practices, shipping/receiving practices, design and construction of detailed spreadsheets and basic computerized inventory accounting software. Exceptional in time management and planning with a high level of attention to detail.
