Job summary

American Material Services Inc is seeking an Inventory Specialist to track incoming, outgoing, and stored goods. Core duties include reconciling physical stock with digital records, preventing shortages, processing shipments, and using inventory management software.

Responsibilities include cycle counts, discrepancy resolution, shipping and receiving, stock management with FIFO, replenishment, and reporting turnover and obsolete inventory to management.

Qualifications

• Experience with ERP systems and RF scanners valued.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to maintain accurate records.

Inventory Specialist

Tracks incoming, outgoing, and stored goods. Core duties include reconciling physical stock with digital records, preventing supply shortages, processing shipments, and managing inventory management software.

Key Responsibilities

• Cycle Counting: Conduct routine physical counts of products and perform daily or weekly audits.
• Discrepancy Resolution: Reconcile differences between physical counts and system records to prevent shrinkage and losses.
• Shipping & Receiving: Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders, log items into databases, and package, label, and ship finished goods.
• Stock Management: Organize storage spaces, manage stock rotation (e.g., first-in, first-out) to ensure product freshness and accessibility; order and manage purchased input material, disposition of legacy material.
• Replenishment: Monitor inventory levels and place restock orders as needed.
• Reporting: Compile data on turnover rates, stock levels, and obsolete inventory for management.

Requirements & Skills

• Education: High school diploma or GED; associate's degree in logistics or supply chain management preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in word processing, database systems, spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Excel); experience with modern ERP systems and RF scanners is highly valued.
• Physical Stamina: Stand for long periods, bend, and lift heavy merchandise or equipment (up to 30 lbs).
• Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail and time-management skills to ensure records stay accurate.
