Job summary

ScanSource is seeking an Inventory SME at our CA West warehouse in Sacramento to lead inventory control and receiving processes. You will train associates, resolve discrepancies, and ensure accuracy across receiving and put-away operations.

The role requires 2–4 years in similar warehousing roles, strong Excel and WMS familiarity, and a proactive approach to process improvements. On-site work in Sacramento with occasional cross-location collaboration may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–4 years of experience in inventory, receiving operations, warehouse operations, logistics, or related roles.
• Experience as SME in inventory or warehouse operations.
• Proven ability to train, coach, and mentor team members, including onboarding and ongoing skill development.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with experience investigating discrepancies and receiving issues.
• Experience conducting cycle counts, reconciliations, and maintaining inventory accuracy.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication across departments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Outlook, and inventory reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME for inventory control, receiving procedures, and accuracy processes.
• Coach and train inventory and receiving associates, including onboarding and development.
• Escalate inventory discrepancies, receiving errors, stock variances, and system issues.
• Monitor daily receiving activities to ensure accurate and timely inbound shipments.
• Oversee inventory transactions: receiving, put-away, transfers, cycle counts, reconciliations.
• Collaborate with Inventory Coordinators to support cycle counts and physical inventories.
• Review and update inventory and receiving procedures for accuracy and compliance.
• Coordinate with other facilities to align processes and best practices.
• Support system implementations and warehouse process improvements.
• Promote safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
