  • Master’s degree in public administration or business administration or equivalent with 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience including 2 years in a supervisory/consultative capacity.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable with required supervisory/consultative background.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews usage of stock supplies across facilities.
  • Forecasts demand and stocking strategy based on usage, availability and seasonality.
  • Coordinate all inventory data tasks with Materials Management team.
  • Review stock-out/early warning reports to plan inventory outages.
  • Liaise with suppliers, distributors, materials managers and end-users to ensure proper stocking and avoid shortages.
  • Collaborate with supply chain teams, vendors and end users to identify substitute items.
  • Manage stocking levels in ERP system.
  • Support implementation of Materials Management projects.
  • Serve as IT liaison by translating business requirements.
  • Participate in QA/PI activities and staff training.
  • Comply with regulatory requirements for safe working environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Inventory Planner will assist in the system‑wide inventory and supply management for all perpetual and PAR managed (stock and non‑stock) across NYC Health + Hospitals’ acute, long‑term and ambulatory facilities, for the purpose of increasing efficiency in Supply Chain Management and, as a result, enhancing NYC Health + Hospitals’ ability to provide patient‑centered quality care.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities
  • Reviews usage of stock supplies for NYC Health + Hospitals’ acute, ambulatory and long‑term facilities.
  • Forecasts demand and stocking strategy for supplies based on usage, supply availability and seasonality.
  • Coordinate all inventory data tasks with Materials Management team: Central Office + Facilities.
  • Reviews stock‑out/early warning reports to plan for inventory outages accordingly.
  • Liaises with suppliers, distributors, materials managers and end‑users to ensure proper adequate stocking, minimize over‑stocking and avoid shortages and outages.
  • Collaborate with supply chain teams, vendors and end users to assist in the identification of substitute items.
  • Manage stocking levels in Enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.
  • Support the implementation of various Materials Management projects.
  • Serve as an IT liaison by understanding and interpreting business requirements.
  • Participates in departmental and team meetings, internal/external quality assurance/performance improvement (QA/PI) activities and programs, and facility‑wide training, as required.
  • Acts in compliance with all regulatory requirements, to ensure safe working environment.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in public administration or business administration, or an equivalent program, and four (4) years of satisfactory, full‑time paid experience in a major governmental agency or large corporation or foundation in management analysis or operational direction, planning, coordination or control, of which two (2) years must have been in a supervisory, administrative or consultative capacity; or
  • A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of experience as stated in #1 above, of which three (3) years must have been in a supervisory, administrative or consultative capacity; or
  • A satisfactory equivalent; however, all candidates must possess not less than the two (2) years of supervisory, administrative or consultative experience required. Four (4) years of appropriate general experience may be substituted for a Baccalaureate degree requirement. Appropriate full‑time teaching experience in an accredited college or university may be substituted on a year‑for‑year basis for the required general experience and appropriate full‑time teaching experience in a position of professional rank may be substituted on a year‑for‑year basis for the required supervisory, administrative or consultative experience.
