Qualifications

  • Master’s degree plus 1 year of medically oriented health care experience.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with medical staff and other departments to plan and coordinate joint objectives; act as liaison between Medical Services and admin divisions.
  • Provide administrative supervision for a health service program.
  • Plan, develop, and conduct training to maintain staff proficiency in new equipment and methods.
  • Allocate staff based on workload, space, and equipment.
  • Supervise studies related to the service/program and implement improvements in procedures.
  • Coordinate research projects and evaluate rehabilitative programs within the department.
  • Direct processing of orders for equipment, prosthetic appliances, and medical supplies.
  • Consult with clinical staff to clarify records and secure timely certification and verification.
  • Analyze patient records to ensure reimbursement formulas are met and forms completed.
  • Ensure compliance policies and procedures are current and followed.
  • Oversee office administration and record keeping for the department.
  • Supervise employee performance and development within assigned areas.
  • Supervise preparation and publication of operational manuals and procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities
Purpose of Position

This class of positions encompasses supervisory or administrative work of varying degrees of difficulty and with varying degrees of latitude for independent initiative and judgement in the delivery of health program and support services.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Under general supervision with moderate latitude for independent initiative and judgment, performs some of the following functions:

  • Consults with medical and professional staff of other departments and staff from associated health care fields to plan and coordinate joint patient and management objectives. Acts as a liaison between the Department of Medical Services and other administrative divisions.
  • Provides administrative supervision for a health service program.
  • Plans, develops, and may conduct training programs to maintain proficiency of staff and use of new equipment and methods.
  • Allocates staff on basis of workload, space, and available equipment.
  • May supervise studies related to the service/program and analyzes modifications and development of systems and procedures to improve departmental operations. Makes recommendations and implements.
  • Coordinates research projects and conducts special studies to evaluate various rehabilitative programs in the department and within the overall objective of the department.
  • Directs the processing of orders for requisitioning of equipment, prosthetic appliances, and medical supplies for patients.
  • As required, consults with medical, nursing and other staff involved in treatment to clarify ambiguities and secure documentation of the records and to secure necessary and timely certification and verification.
  • May analyze patient records with clinical staff to determine whether they document that the length of stay and medical services rendered are consistent with reimbursement formulas, completing necessary forms.
  • Ensures that compliance policies and procedures current and followed.
  • Supervises the office administration and office record keeping activities of the department.
  • Is responsible for employee supervision, performance and employee development of assigned personnel in areas of responsibility and accountability.
  • Supervises the preparation and publication of operational manuals and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Public Administration, Business Administration, Social Work, Psychology or Rehabilitation Counseling; and one (1) year of full-time experience in medically-oriented health care and medical support systems environment; or
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in disciplines listed in “1” above; and two(2)years of full-time experience in medically-oriented health care and medical support systems environment; or
  • A satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience, in which each year of relevant training and/or experience can be substituted for 30 semester credits from an accredited college or university. However, all applicants must at least have a Bachelor’s degree.
Department Preferences

Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of Food Production experience; preferably in a high-volume production environment or Culinary Center.

Must be able to exhibit leadership abilities, be capable to perform independently, exercise superior initiative and judgment, and possess excellent communication skills, math skills and written skills.

Flexible and adaptable to change and have the demonstrated ability to manage, train, motivate employees and work well in a team environment.

Must be results-oriented, reliable, consistent, and display a willingness to learn and supervise new methods and processes for completing assigned tasks.
