Job summary

BuyWander is seeking an Assistant General Manager of Inventory in Chicago, IL. This role owns the end-to-end inventory flow from inbound receipt to customer-ready staging, leading warehouse supervisors and a team to ensure accurate, efficient operations.

The position emphasizes ownership, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration to drive performance. A strong focus on safety, productivity, and real-time labor planning is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in retail, etail, warehousing, or distribution ops.
• Detail-oriented and disciplined about accuracy, organization, and follow-through.
• Clear communicator who surfaces problems early and informs the right people.
• Comfortable with technology, including inventory systems and dashboards.
• Experience in resale, returns, liquidation, or high-volume fulfillment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own inbound-to-fulfillment flow in a multimillion-dollar operation.
• Lead warehouse supervisors and associates across receiving, processing, put-away, picking, and fulfillment.
• Build and execute the daily labor deployment plan and adjust in real time.
• Identify backlog and bottlenecks; implement recovery plans before issues escalate.
• Develop SOPs for receiving, processing, picking, staging, and warehouse operations.
• Collaborate with tech and executive teams to scale operations.
