Job summary

Design Within Reach is seeking an Inventory Operations Supervisor in a warehouse setting. You will lead day-to-day shift activities to meet safety, quality, customer service, and cost goals across inventory functions.

You will build and coach a team, ensure accurate inventory locations and counts, and drive continuous improvement in distribution processes while maintaining compliance with audits and corporate requirements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive, demonstrated leadership experience in operations management within a warehouse or distribution environment.
• Ability to lift 50-75 pounds consistently.
• Forklift, electric pallet jack, cherry picker experience (preferred).
• Mobile handheld device experience (preferred).
• Strong multitasking skill.
• Strong inter-personal and communication ability.
• Knowledge of operational budgeting process, and P&L accountability.
• MS Excel and Word proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Identify issues affecting customer satisfaction caused by operational issues and acts as a key change agent for the organization in developing solutions.
• Manage inventory related functions to achievement of goals for operational metrics, including shipping time, order fill rate, inventory location, and count accuracy.
• Ensure that the annual objectives for cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness are achieved.
• Develop and manage a strong team and oversee training and coaching, evaluation of all employees necessary to meet or exceed goals, and development of the work atmosphere.
• Ensure that safety, security, productivity, and satisfaction of employee align with company objectives.
• Manage warehouse inventory control programs and assure location and count accuracy meets our corporate requirements.
• Actively measure quality and strive for continuous improvement.
• Continually seek ways to improve the overall distribution process and identify best practices.
• Maintain compliance for areas of responsibility and participate in internal and external audits.
