Job summary

MedStar Health in Baltimore is seeking a Materials Management Associate to receive, inspect, store, deliver and issue materials, supplies and equipment. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Experience with inventory systems or MMIS/Par Excel preferred.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and maintain records accurately.

Responsibilities

• Assists in care and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
• Ensures procedures follow MMIS/Par Excel to prevent stock-outs.
• Contributes to department goals and adheres to policies, quality and safety standards.
• Identifies and troubleshoots problems and tracks flow in inventory systems.
• Maintains relationships with other departments and participates in quality teams.
• May prepare, compare, and check reports and related data.
• Monitors inventory levels; prepares purchase orders at reorder points; replenishes storage areas.
• Prepares and maintains shipping records and bills of lading for shipments.
• Receives and verifies incoming materials against purchase orders; inspects shipments.
• Receives requests for supplies; selects stock; distributes supplies; obtains authorization.
• Removes outdated supplies and returns them for reprocessing or disposition.
• Uncrates and assembles equipment; labels and inspects patient care equipment.
