Unity Lab Services provides integrated lab services, support, and supply management. Our customized offerings and experienced service teams address our customers' laboratory needs. The position is located in Rahway, NJ.

How do we make an impact?

The role primarily involves scientific support services within Unity Lab Services, including order entry, management, customer procurement systems, stockroom services, material handling, shipping/receiving, and chemical tracking.

What will you do?

1. Use Thermo Fisher Scientific's or customer's inventory/order management systems for activities like replenishments, disbursements, receiving, put-away, stock rotation, cycle counts, order entry, and customer service.
2. Deliver chemical packages within a laboratory environment.
3. Sustain and maintain chemical stockroom inventory.
4. Pickup hazardous waste.
5. Follow work processes as outlined by written procedures.
6. Address customer concerns effectively, communicate proactively, and engage in process improvements.
7. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Experience

1-2 years in relevant experience, preferably in a laboratory setting or services, with validated customer service skills and strong communication abilities.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English; excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to operate handheld scanners and enter data into systems; analytical skills for report reconciliation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and organizational skills for multitasking and meeting deadlines.
• Ability to work independently at customer sites, potentially in environments with chemical allergens.
• Use of PPE such as lab coats, coveralls, masks, hairnets, gloves, safety glasses, steel toe shoes, etc., depending on the area.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull 30-40 pounds regularly; may lift 50 pounds using equipment like carts, pallet jacks, or forklifts.
