Unity Lab Services provides integrated lab services, support, and supply management. Our customized offerings and expert team can address various laboratory needs. The position is located in Rahway, NJ.

How do we make an impact?

This role focuses on scientific support services within Unity Lab Services, including order entry, management, customer procurement systems, stockroom services, material handling, shipping/receiving, and chemical tracking.

What will you do?

1. Use Thermo Fisher Scientific's or customer's inventory/order management systems for activities such as replenishments, receiving, put-away, stock rotation, cycle counts, order processing, customer service, product returns, and backorder management.
2. Deliver chemical packages within a laboratory environment.
3. Sustain and maintain chemical stockroom inventory.
4. Pickup hazardous waste.
5. Follow established work processes and procedures.
6. Address customer concerns proactively, aiming for resolution within set timeframes, and communicate issues to supervisors.
7. Participate in process improvement activities.
8. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Education

High School Diploma required.

Experience

1-2 years relevant experience, preferably in a laboratory or related services environment. Validated customer service skills with strong verbal and written communication.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English; strong communication skills and customer service orientation.
• Proficient in using handheld scanners and data entry systems; analytical skills for report reconciliation.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office; organizational skills to multi-task and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently at customer sites, potentially in areas with chemical allergens.
• Wearing PPE such as lab coats, coveralls, masks, hairnets, gloves, safety glasses, steel toe shoes, etc., may be required.
• Must be able to lift, push, and pull 30-40 pounds regularly; may need to lift up to 50 pounds using carts, pallet jacks, forklifts, etc.
