Job summary

Ghost is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Finance & Accounting team in Los Angeles. You will own core day-to-day accounting operations, including AR/AP, bank reconciliations, month-end close, and inventory accounting support for a high-velocity marketplace.

This hands-on role reports to the Director of Accounting and offers ownership from day one as we prepare for our first external audit and scale reporting infrastructure. Growth and impact await the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2+ years of accounting experience with hands-on month-end close exposure: journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Experience owning AR/AP processes or a set of close deliverables independently.
• Hands-on experience with NetSuite as a primary accounting system.
• Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills; comfortable working with large transaction datasets.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organization; able to manage competing deadlines during close.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end accounts receivable and accounts payable processes; manage related documentation and approvals.
• Lead month-end close activities with schedules, ensuring timely financial reporting and ledger integrity.
• Reconcile bank statements and balance sheet accounts; investigate discrepancies until resolved.
• Support inventory accounting and reconciliations between systems and general ledger.
• Prepare audit-ready workpapers for external audit and document internal controls.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather information and support reporting needs.
