Job summary

Rohde & Schwarz is seeking an Inventory Demand Manager to lead inventory planning, forecasting, and optimization across multiple sites. You will drive data-driven decisions, collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Supply Chain, and coordinate with production to meet deadlines.

The ideal candidate has strong SAP (MM/IM) expertise, multi-site inventory experience, and a proven track record in project-driven environments. A degree in a related field and supervisory experience are required.

• 5+ years of progressive experience in inventory control, with multi-site focus.
• 3+ years of supervisory experience.
• APICS CPIM and CSCP certifications are a plus.
• Expert-level SAP (MM/IM) proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Forecasting & Demand Planning: develop accurate inventory forecasts with Sales, Operations, and Supply Chain teams.
• Inventory Analysis & Reporting: analyze data to identify trends and risks; present regular metrics reports.
• Multi-Site Inventory Management: implement inventory control strategies across multiple locations.
• Project Support: manage inventory for large-scale projects with cross-functional teams.
• SAP System Management: use SAP MM/IM to manage inventory transactions and improvements.

Job description

The Inventory Demand Manager is a strategic leadership role responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and optimization of inventory across multiple Rohde & Schwarz sites, while coordinating production activities to meet deadlines and align with operational goals. This position leads inventory planning, forecasting, and demand processes to support large-scale projects and fulfill customer demand, balancing production scheduling, material requirements, and collaboration with manufacturing teams. The role requires cross-functional partnership with supply chain, operations, and project teams to streamline workflows, resolve bottlenecks, and align inventory strategies with business objectives. The ideal candidate is a data-driven leader with strong analytical skills, a proven track record in multi-site inventory and production coordination, and expert-level proficiency in SAP to drive operational efficiency and project success.

Your tasks

• Forecasting & Demand Planning: Lead the development of accurate inventory forecasts, collaborating with Sales, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to anticipate demand fluctuations and optimize stock levels.
• Inventory Analysis & Reporting: Analyze inventory data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement. Prepare and present regular reports on key inventory metrics (e.g., turns, obsolescence, accuracy).
• Multi-Site Inventory Management: Develop and implement inventory control strategies across multiple locations, ensuring consistent processes and data accuracy.
• Project Support: Manage inventory requirements for large-scale projects, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure materials are available when needed.
• SAP System Management: Utilize SAP (MM/IM modules) to manage inventory transactions, analyze data, and implement process improvements. Troubleshoot SAP-related issues and collaborate with IT support as needed.
• Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to inventory control processes, leveraging best practices and technology to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of inventory control specialists, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
• Cycle Counting & Physical Inventory: Develop and support cycle counting program and annual physical inventory counts across all sites, ensuring accuracy and reconciliation of discrepancies.
• Obsolete Inventory Management: Develop and execute plans to minimize obsolete inventory, including identifying slow-moving items and implementing appropriate disposition strategies.
• Compliance & Audit: Ensure compliance with all relevant inventory control policies and procedures. Support internal and external audits.

Your Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related fieldrequired.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in inventory control, with a demonstrated focus on multi-site management.
• 3+ years of supervisory experience leading a team of inventory professionals.
• APICS Certifications – CPIM and CSCP a plus
• Expert-level proficiency in SAP (MM/IM modules) isrequired. Experience with advanced forecasting tools within SAP is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
• Proven ability to manage projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with demand planning and forecasting methodologies.
• Knowledge of inventory control best practices and principles.
• Willingness to travel up to 15% of the time.
• In order to be considered, candidates must reside in the US and be a US person capable of obtaining a US Gov't Public Trust Clearance.

The total compensation for this position is $67K-$90K. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level. Individual pay within the range is determined by several factors including location, education or training, relevant work history, sales incentive structure and job-related skills.
