Job summary

ofi North America (Olam Food Ingredients) is seeking an Inventory Cycle Counter to join our team in California. The role focuses on conducting periodic inventory counts, adjusting quantities and locations, and reporting discrepancies to ensure accurate plant inventories.

You will collaborate across departments to maintain proper materials in the right places at the right times. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and proactive, with strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or state-issued equivalency certificate and one (1) year of inventory, production, department coordinator experience.
  • Ability to develop productive, collaborative working relationships across departments and with customers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, interpret, and execute simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; intermediate proficiency in MS Outlook.
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in investigating missing product.
  • Complete cycle counts for packaging and ingredients and communicate low inventory levels to Inventory Manager.
  • Complete cycle counts for raw and byproducts, maintaining and reporting inventory.
  • Partner with internal departments to coordinate product disposition for use or disposal.
  • Maintain standard work for inventory and update as needed.
  • Partner with production, shipping, and receiving to resolve production discrepancies.
  • Oversee and track inventory changes.
  • Maintain satisfactory attendance, including timeliness.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Inventory Manager, the Inventory Cycle Counter plans and conducts periodic inventory counts, adjusts quantities and locations, and records and reports discrepancies to management. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate plant inventory records and leveraging information systems, processes, and communication to help ensure the correct inventory and materials are in the right place at the right time.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and proactive, with strong problem-solving and communication skills. They work collaboratively across departments, value accuracy and accountability, and are committed to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

The pay for this role in the state of CA is $16.90 per hour and is based on the position responsibilities and geographic location.
