Responsibilities

  • Data entry for work orders and maintenance notifications; maintain filing and paperwork.
  • Purchase requisitions creation, vendor interactions, and AP requests.
  • Receive inbound materials via SAP; ensure proper storage locations.
  • Perform physical inventory counts using an RF scanner.
  • Maintain organized storage areas and label items appropriately.
  • Coordinate vending machine needs and employee access.
  • Operate company vehicles, including forklift, for deliveries and pickups.
  • Backup Maintenance Planner: update work orders and material requirements.
  • Support maintenance scheduling and planning to improve reliability.
  • Assist with development of work plans to support production schedules.
  • Maintain records for preventative maintenance and ensure parts availability.
  • Identify obsolete/defective inventory for review; communicate issues.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Maintenance Manger, the Storeroom Attendant will be responsible for identifying and dispensing stockroom parts, receiving and storing inbound parts orders, writing requisitions, and recording parts usage. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing routine inventory counts, generating orders for stockroom parts, updating maintenance work orders, and organizing and maintaining storage areas and filing of paperwork. In addition, this role will serve as the Backup Maintenance Planner for the plant and the port, supporting maintenance planning and scheduling activities as needed. Responsibilities may include creating and updating preventive maintenance schedules, preparing and reviewing work orders, coordinating parts and labor requirements, maintaining maintenance records within the CMMS, and assisting in the prioritization and scheduling of maintenance activities to ensure efficient equipment reliability and plant operations.

Position Responsibilities
  • Data entry: Work orders/Notifications, maintenance of multiple tracking. spreadsheets. Ensures proper filing and organization of all department paperwork.
  • Purchasing Duties – monitors department needs, creates purchase requisitions, places order, interacts with vendors routinely.
  • Completes Accounts Payable requests in a timely manner.
  • Purchases items at local stores with company purchasing card as requested.
  • Receiving Duties – physically and systematically (SAP) receives inbound materials, ensures items are delivered and/or stored in appropriate locations.
  • Performs regular physical inventory counts of storeroom parts using an RF scanner.
  • Ensures parts storage areas (Maintenance Parts storage room, tool room, Maintenance mezzanine,) are organized, clean and all items labeled appropriately.
  • Monitors and coordinates need of the vendor provided vending machine, maintaining employee access to machine.
  • Drives company vehicles (Truck, golf cart, forklift) as required for deliveries and item pickups, both on company property and off company property.
  • Serves as backup to the Maintenance Planner as needed, including updating maintenance work orders, reviewing maintenance material requirements, and assisting with maintenance scheduling activities.
  • Reviews maintenance demand and initiates purchase requisitions for materials and services necessary to support scheduled maintenance activities.
  • Assists with the development and coordination of work plans to support production schedules and maintenance objectives.
  • Supports the execution and continuous improvement of the preventative maintenance program by maintaining accurate records and ensuring required parts and materials are available.
  • Performs inventory analysis and assists in maintaining appropriate inventory levels while identifying obsolete or defective inventory items for review.
  • Regularly communicates all issues verbally or by email.
  • Supports both Plant and port warehouse
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements
  • Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, management, Department Leads and multiple vendors/delivery personnel.
  • Ideal candidate will have 3 years’ experience in computerized stockroom ordering and inventory, are familiar with computerized inventory systems, and maintenance parts for manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to take direction and work in a team driven atmosphere.
  • Ability to wear all appropriate PPE.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak in English.
  • Must be able to operate or able to learn how to operate a forklift. Must successfully complete Powered Industrial Truck Certification Training within one month after hire.
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics and measurement principles.
  • Must have intermediate computer skills to include Microsoft Word and Excel. SAP knowledge preferred.
  • Strong team player - good communication (written and verbal), follow-up skills, attention to detail and the ability to train others.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
