Job summary

RK Mechanical, Inc. is seeking an Inventory Control Associate to manage activities related to inventory control in a warehouse and yard environment.

You will assist in developing solutions to inventory problems, compile and report trends, and collaborate with Purchasing, suppliers, and Business Units to maintain stock levels. The role requires 2–3 years in Inventory Management, strong MS Word/Excel/Outlook skills, and the ability to coordinate tasks under supervision.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of skills and 2-3 years of experience in Inventory Management.
  • Computer skills with ability to learn new software.
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Able to coordinate own tasks with a specific range of responsibilities in accomplishing well defined outcomes.
  • Able to receive direct supervision and guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing solutions to specific problem areas related to inventory control.
  • Compile, verify, and report periodic statistical information to management regarding trends in work order and process fluctuation.
  • Work with Purchasing, suppliers, and Business Units to establish and maintain on hand stock levels, minimums, and maximums.
  • Monitor inventory and cycle counting process as required by Production Planning.
  • Develop and maintain procedures to ensure accurate stock quantities and values in stock management software.
  • Assist in creating and implementing solutions to problems with inventory management and streamlining processes.
  • Work with department supervisors to create physical organization of inventoried items.
  • Occasionally load and unload items from the warehouse and yard.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Summary of Duties:

Manage activates related to inventory control within a warehouse and yard environment. Perform various functions that are necessary for the timely, efficient, and effective operations of the warehouse and yard.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Assist in developing solutions to specific problem areas related to inventory control.
  • Compile, verify, and report periodic statistical information to management regarding trends in work order and process fluctuation.
  • Work with Purchasing, suppliers, and Business Units to establish and maintain on hand stock levels, minimums, and maximums.

Accountability:
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • All employees are accountable for safety and health and are empowered to stop work if an unsafe condition is present. Employees should immediately notify their supervisor so that the hazard may be corrected.
Minimum Physical Requirements:
  • Work outside, inside, and in dusty, noisy, and hazardous areas.
  • Work in high places, tight places, confined spaces and/or other adverse locations.
  • Climb, balance, squat, kneel and crouch.
  • Work in all types of weather.
  • Report and provide solutions for inventory issues.
  • Schedule and implement daily cycle counts and semi-annual full on hand audits.
  • Must have working knowledge of all trade materials and tools.
  • Ability to lift, move and/or carry 50 lbs. occasionally.
Qualifications:
  • High school degree or GED or equivalent combination of skills and 2-3 years of experience in Inventory Management.
  • Computer skills with ability to learn new software.
  • Able to perform technical responsibilities.
  • Demonstrates proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Able to coordinate own tasks with a specific range of responsibilities in accomplishing well defined outcomes.
