Job summary

Ohio Department of Public Safety – Director's Office/Facility Management (Distribution & Inventory Services) in Columbus, OH, seeks an Inventory Control Specialist 1 to manage asset tracking and inventory processes. Report in location is 1583 Alum Creek Drive, Columbus, Ohio 43209.

Full-time schedule, 8:00am–4:45pm, with union OCSEA. Responsibilities include receiving, tracking, transporting, and distributing assets, performing asset verification, labeling, and maintaining asset management

Qualifications

• 9 mos. trg. or 9 mos. exp. in inventory control.
• Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the supervisor/lead worker receives, processes, tracks, transports, & ships/distributes assets, items, & records.
• Perform property & accountability functions for existing & newly acquired ODPS property, (e.g., identify assets, generate & affix DPS barcode labels on assets, perform inventory verification of assets, enter inventory information into the inventory tracking system).
• Verify processes & assist with transport of items to DAS State Surplus for salvage of assets deemed not damaged, obsolete, or unserviceable by ODPS.
• Create & maintain existing ODPS Asset Management files & records.

What you'll do as an Inventory Control Specialist 1
