Job Description for Inventory Control Specialist

Job Type: Full-Time, In-Person

As part of our continued growth, we seek a skilled Inventory Specialist to join our team, contributing directly to the hands-on work required to meet our ambitious production and quality goals.

As an Inventory Control Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the material handling process at ENDOCORP. You will be responsible for maintaining the company’s inventory, filling orders for production, creating inventory bins and labels, and performing continual audits of our inventory, all while maintaining accurate records of all procurements. You will work closely with the Parts Lab Team, CCD Division, and Shipping Coordinator.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. Maintains consistent stock of inventory, ordering new stock up to pre-authorized limit as inventory dwindles.
  2. Establishes and maintains backup source for high-demand items.
  3. Assesses inventory reports and order patterns to identify items in need of automatic, recurring delivery.
  4. Provides inventory reports to purchasing and Operations Manager.
  5. Maintains accurate daily records of goods received and shipments made with stock adjustments.
  6. Manages and maintains inventory system; facilitates upgrades to related database and/or software under the direction of the purchasing or inventory control manager.
  7. Conducts frequent spot and partial audits of physical inventory.
  8. Assists with periodic (at least annual) physical inventory cycle counts.
  9. Operates forklift truck when necessary.
  10. Performs other related duties as requested, specifically assisting daily in the material handling sorting process.
  11. Works with automated counting scale to take accurate inventory readings.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  1. Quickly and efficiently without error stocking and picking of inventory items.
  2. Excellent communication skills with warehouse workers, purchasing department, and outside vendors.
  3. Advanced understanding of inventory control procedures.
  4. Proficient skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  5. Extremely organized and able to work with minimum supervision.

Education and Experience:

  1. 1+ years of experience in inventory control, preferably in the medical device industry.
  2. Strong knowledge of inventory management systems and procedures.
  3. Proficiency in MS Excel and other inventory management software.
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  5. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
  6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.
  2. Must be able to navigate warehouse and reach items both high and low.
