Job description

Inventory Control Specialist

B&B Roadway and Security Solutions, an ASSA ABLOY branded company, is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist for our Russellville, AL location. This role involves leading and coordinating the engineering team, evaluating technical feasibility, and resolving design and production issues with existing products.

What you will be doing:

Monitor, maintain, update, investigate, and analyze inventory records. Lead inventory-related projects and provide management with information to assist decision-making regarding inventory balances, control processes, and improvements. Lead setup and administration of cycle counts for raw and component goods. Validate and improve inventory accuracy and controls. Reconcile work order issues.

Job Duties & Requirements:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor inventory transaction functions for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Perform regular cycle counts, compare actual counts to records, and make system corrections. Document results and publish corrective action plans. Work with personnel to correct inventory errors.
  • Coordinate cycle counts, identify discrepancies, and generate reports.
  • Research inventory discrepancies, identify root causes, and propose solutions.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance location and item accuracy and productivity.
  • Monitor and control inventory integrity, document damages, and track non-conforming products.
  • Generate reports to identify errors and correct transactions accordingly.

The skills and experience you need:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Knowledge of production processes, raw materials, and material flows.
  • At least 2 years experience in an MRP or ERP manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management in manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Attention to detail and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Effective communication and influencing skills.
