The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for the administration and procurement of several product lines of cabinetry. This includes setting up new items in our inventory system, updating files, placing replenishment orders and special orders, and other activities to maintain an accurate inventory count. Setting up new vendors and understanding ordering requirements. Coordinate with Sales Team and Customer Service to provide accurate ordering and lead time information.
This is an on-site position, Monday - Fridays, from 8am to 5pm.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Use replenishment reports & customer orders to adequately fulfill both internal stocking needs & special-order customer projects
- Place purchase orders with suppliers on a timely basis to ensure delivery requirements are met
- Review purchase order information for accuracy & identify & problem solve through errors as needed
- Follow up with vendors to ensure delivery schedules are met, pricing discrepancies are addressed, & any identified errors are resolved
- Enter all required information into online purchasing systems & keep the internal system updated for new products
- Develops & maintains a good working relationship with vendors & serves as the primary administrative point of contact
- Work with cross functional teams to solve company challenges and implement solutions
- Assess inventory reports and order patterns to identify items in need of recurring delivery
- Keep management informed of any difficulties or issues
- Performs other duties as required
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications/skills:
- Associate's degree in business or previous inventory control experience required (2-3 years preferred)
- Effective verbal and written communication are a must
- The ability to learn new processes and retain information
- Must be detail-oriented and well organized
- Ability to multi-task while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines
- Able to work independently yet function as part of a team
- Basic understanding of inventory control procedures
- Ability to develop professional relationships with outside vendors
- Proven work history
- Proficient in MS Office with emphasis on Excel and Outlook and be comfortable learning new computer systems
- Able to perform basic math calculations
- Working understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
- Inventory administration experience preferred
- Familiarity with building products is a bonus
