Job description

The Country Store is the retail division of Skagit Farmers Supply, a diversified local agricultural supply cooperative. Founded in Burlington, WA, in 1934, the company includes our main business divisions: agronomy, retail, energy, wholesale distribution, and milling. Our mission is to serve the community to preserve and enhance the viability of the agriculture economy.

The Country Store provides quality goods and services for all “Farm-Pet-Home” needs! We operate stores in Washington State and Stevensville, MT. This position is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy and stock rotation.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Ensure compliance with all inventory control measures.
  2. Work with others to ensure all staff has required training and accountability in their inventory control responsibilities.
  3. Audit location inventory through physical inspection and verify accuracy through cycle count practices.
  4. Monitor all merchandise for correct location assignments, correct and clean bin labels, expired product and stock rotation.
  5. Analyze inventory variance reports and recognize security risks and thefts.
  6. Work with staff to minimize security risks and reduce inventory shrink.
  7. Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  8. Participate in monthly staff meeting and communicate information on inventory control topics.
  9. Operate a forklift when necessary.
  10. Exhibit an ability to receive feedback, adapt to new processes and continuously develop skills.
  11. Demonstrate the ability to collaborate, communicate well and effectively relay information with an emphasis on developing positive professional relationships.
  12. Practice punctual and reliable attendance.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Possess a valid driver license and maintain a safe driving record.
  3. Lift, carry, push, pull and load up to 60 pounds.
  4. Commitment to excellence and high standards.
  5. Proficiency operating and navigating Microsoft Windows operating system.
  6. Physical ability to stand for extended periods; bend, stoop and kneel occasionally.
  7. Professional appearance and demeanor.
  8. Proven track record of being dependable and reliable.
  9. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  10. Strong organizational, multi-tasking, problem-solving and analytical skills with an emphasis on calculating figures and amounts.
  11. Must pass pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Experience working in a retail setting.
  2. Experience with Microsoft Excel, Epicor or similar retail point of sale software.
  3. Experience using radio frequency (RF) scanning technology and equipment.
  4. Product knowledge in one or more of the following areas: feed, seed, pet food & supplies, hardware, fencing, animal health, tack, clothing & footwear, lawn & garden or wild bird supplies.
SCHEDULE

This is a full time, 40 hours per week position. Generally, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.

$17.25 – $21/hour. After meeting eligibility requirements, benefits include:
