Job summary

The Fresh Market is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist to act as the store’s backroom point person for accuracy and vendor receiving execution. You will manage product dating, cooler/freezer compliance, and days-on-hand targets while upholding SOPs and store standards.

This role emphasizes attention to detail, operational excellence, and collaboration to ensure product freshness and regulatory compliance, with a dynamic, fast-paced store environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in retail, grocery, restaurant, or hospitality operations.
• Experience coordinating teams (1-2 years).
• Ability to work in cold, wet, and physically demanding environments.
• Strong attention to detail with organizational skills and multitasking.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inbound and outbound deliveries; manage documentation and item resolution.
• Maintain days-on-hand targets across departments.
• Keep beer, wine, and spirits inventory records compliant with laws.
• Enforce store receiving protocols and vendor security.
• Verify deliveries, invoices, and processing accuracy.
• Collaborate with distribution and merchandising to resolve discrepancies.
• Serve as primary contact for Maintenance Dispatch Center and equipment repairs.
• Provide courteous interactions with vendors, team members, and guests.
