Job summary

The Fresh Market is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist to manage backroom accuracy and inventory integrity. You will oversee dating, cooler/freezer compliance, and days-on-hand targets while ensuring SOPs and regulatory standards are met.

As the store's point person for inbound/outbound deliveries, you will collaborate with managers to optimize inventory planning, product rotation, and ordering, driving efficient operations and guest confidence in product freshness.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in retail, grocery, restaurant, or hospitality operations.
• 1–2 years of experience coordinating teams.
• Ability to work in cold, wet, and physically demanding environments.
• Strong attention to detail with organizational skills, multitasking, and fast pace.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with department managers to oversee inbound/outbound deliveries, documentation, follow-ups, and item resolution.
• Support inventory planning, product rotation, and ordering for efficiency and availability.
• Monitor and maintain days-on-hand targets for all departments.
• Maintain beer, wine, and spirits inventory records and legal compliance.
• Enforce store receiving protocols, including vendor security and backroom access control.
• Verify deliveries, truck seals, and electronic invoices for accurate processing.
• Partner with distribution/merchandising to resolve invoice and quantity discrepancies.
• Serve as primary contact for Maintenance Dispatch Center for repairs.
