Job summary

Blue Harlan, recruitment partner to a leading national distributor, seeks an Inventory Control Supervisor for its Boston distribution center. This hands-on, leadership-focused role directs inventory accuracy programs, cycle counts, and a team of counters to sustain operational excellence across the warehouse.

You will analyze data, drive process improvements, and collaborate with operations and accounting to report performance.

Qualifications

• Experience leading inventory teams in warehouse environments.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to investigate discrepancies.
• Familiarity with cycle count programs and annual inventories.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead all inventory control activities to ensure inventory accuracy and integrity across the distribution center.
• Develop and manage cycle count schedules to meet accounting, audit, and operational requirements.
• Oversee annual physical inventory processes and reporting.
• Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions to improve accuracy.
• Monitor inventory exceptions, shortages, damaged goods, and transitional inventory.
• Research and resolve purchase order and receiving discrepancies.
• Analyze inventory reports and identify trends, risks, and opportunities for process improvement.
• Maintain accurate inventory records within the warehouse management system.
• Collaborate with operations, accounting, and leadership teams to communicate inventory performance and results.
• Supervise and coach Inventory Control team members/Cycle Counters to achieve operational goals.
• Support warehouse safety initiatives and maintain forklift certification as needed.
