Job summary

Kenco Logistics in Portage, MI, seeks an Inventory Control Supervisor to coordinate personnel, equipment, and daily inventory activities to achieve productivity goals while ensuring accuracy and safety. You will lead an inventory team, conduct audits, and drive continuous improvement using KQMS, EIP, LEAN, and Six Sigma principles.

The role requires supervising hourly staff, coordinating cycle counts, and ensuring timely, accurate reporting and root-cause analysis for discrepancies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and/or 5+ years in inventory planning or related supervision.
• Experience supervising hourly warehouse/operations staff.
• Proven track record in high-volume receiving and distribution.
• Ability to lead root-cause analysis and drive Lean/Six Sigma initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accuracy of inbound/outbound inventory via audits and cycle counts.
• Report unsafe conditions to the Operations or General Manager.
• Ensure safety training and compliance for associates.
• Open/secure the building; conduct security audits as required.
• Direct inventory staff to meet customer expectations and schedules.
• Review hours in timekeeping system; communicate issues clearly.
• Oversee returns and damaged goods; manage put-away processes.
• Lead root-cause analysis for inventory discrepancies; coordinate zoning.
• Coordinate stow consolidations and maintain carton inventory as needed.
• Organize physical inventories; communicate issues to management.
• Prepare and process daily reports; manage mid-year/annual reviews.
