Job summary

Jefferson Health in Pennsylvania is seeking a Certified Surgical Technician (CST) (TS-C) to join the intraoperative team. You will help create and maintain a sterile field, anticipate the surgeon's needs, and support preoperative through postoperative care while upholding patient- and family-centered care.

You will work with perioperative staff, participate in team time outs, maintain instrument counts, and serve as a preceptor to other team members as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and completion of a surgical technician training program.
• Experience in a perioperative setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of sterile technique and instrument handling.

Responsibilities

• Inspects OR for cleanliness and prepares equipment, ensuring a sterile setup for procedures.
• Assists with gowning/gloving and maintains sterile field integrity during surgery.
• Counts sharps, sponges and instruments with the circulating nurse and reports discrepancies.
• Maintains supplies and serves as a preceptor to other surgical team members as needed.
