Job summary

Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, Inc. in Philadelphia, PA is hiring a Certified Surgical Technician for Day shift in the Neuroscience Center. This full-time role supports the intraoperative team and maintains sterile fields, assisting with pre-, intra-, and post-operative care.

Prior CST experience is preferred. The CST ensures patient safety, collaborates with surgeons and nurses, may participate in precepting, and contributes to a culture of patient- and family-centered care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; surgical technician training completed.
• Ability to communicate with patients and families respectfully.
• Experience with diverse patient populations and teamwork.
• Knowledge of sterile technique, instrument handling and OR safety.
• Compliance with CST/TS-C credentials and BLS/AHA certifications.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in perioperative care.

Responsibilities

• Maintain sterile field and assist with gowning/gloving of team.
• Prepare OR equipment, instruments and supplies for procedures.
• Assist with draping, instrument counts and report status to team.
• Support patient safety during perioperative care and time-out processes.
• Precept or mentor other surgical team members as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment in the operating room.
