Job summary

Carolina Handling is seeking an Automation Engineer to join the Intralogistics Solutions Group in Atlanta. You will promote solutions for Automation Systems, AGVs, and AMRs, coordinating technical activities across departments to meet project requirements.

You will collaborate with Sales and Operations, assist with quotes, demos, and site surveys, and ensure accurate BOMs and timely project delivery. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

  • College degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 2-4 years of experience in material handling sales, automation, or similar industries preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products including MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and other software suites preferred.
  • Proficient in basic pricing and bill of materials preparation for quoting purposes.
  • Visio or other related flow diagram software preferred.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
  • Adept at assimilating and disseminating information in a professional manner.
  • Demonstrate a team approach and work with others in pursuing common goals.
  • Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrate resourcefulness and judgment to resolve routine problems relating to assigned projects.

Responsibilities

  • Sales Support: assist sales reps with system specification analysis and quotes.
  • Support Site Surveys and build accurate bills of materials and quotes.
  • Assist with preparing quotes for complex projects.
  • Partner with core sales reps to evaluate customer requirements and present value-added products.
  • Conduct demos, assist with sales presentations, and train the sales force as needed.
  • Technical Coordination: review and design solutions, create facility layouts, and support proposals.
  • Coordinate with other departments and vendors during implementation planning.
  • Project Management Support: help managers ensure projects are ordered, installed on time, and within budget.
  • Maintain knowledge of ISG opportunities and move them through the sales pipeline.
  • Research and recommend emerging technical solutions and maintain automation knowledge.

Job Summary

As an Automation Engineer within our Intralogistics Solutions Group, you will promote Carolina Handling both internally and externally, working closely with Sales and Operations. You will support the sale of Automation Systems, AGVs, and AMRs by coordinating and supporting technical activities across multiple departments, systems, and workflows. You may handle straightforward technical requirements independently or seek assistance from internal resources, Raymond, or other vendor partners to discover and develop all necessary technical requirements for each project.

Responsibilities
  • Sales Support
  • Assist sales representatives with system specification analysis to provide clear, documented, and coordinated requirements.
  • Support Site Surveys for projects, complete administrative requirements to build accurate bills of material and quotes.
  • Assist with preparing quotes for complex projects.
  • Partner with core sales representatives to evaluate customer requirements and present value-added products and services.
  • Conduct compelling demos, assist with sales presentations, and train the sales force as needed.
  • Technical Coordination
  • Review and design solutions, create facility layouts, prepare bills of material, collect vendor pricing, and support customer proposals.
  • Liaise with other departments and external sources to address technical questions and assist with any impacts on the implementation schedule.
  • Coordinate with Carolina Handling, Raymond, and other vendor personnel during initial site-related activities to identify technical requirements.
  • Project Management Support
  • Assist Project Managers in managing and implementing solutions by coordinating with sales representatives, vendors, and customers to ensure projects are ordered accurately, installed on time, and completed within budget.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all ISG Solution-related opportunities requiring continued support to move them through the Sales Pipeline.
  • Technical Knowledge and Research
  • Research and recommend emerging technical solutions.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of automation, warehouse systems, related components, and sales/commercial acumen.
  • Maintain working knowledge of the latest installation procedures and options, including pictures of various warehouse sites.
  • Networking and Professional Development
  • Network with other dealer resources and establish a support group.
  • Attend workshops, trade shows, and seminars to stay current on industry trends and changes.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned or required to support the company’s intralogistics operations.
Requirements
