Job summary

Ascension Health in Milwaukee, WI seeks a Radiologic Technologist specializing in vascular/interventional radiography to join the Imaging department on a weekend option, part-time basis. The role emphasizes accurate imaging, patient care, safety, and adherence to radiation protection guidelines.

Required ARRT credentialing with Vascular Interventional Radiography, Wisconsin state licensure, and BLS within 30 days. Hospital benefits and professional development support are offered.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
• ARRT credentialed Radiologic Technologist with Vascular Interventional Radiography specialty required within 15 Months (1 1/4 year) of hire date or job transfer date; General Radiography required.
• Wisconsin Radiography licensure issued by Wisconsin Radiography Examining Board required; licensure by hire date.
• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist credentialed from CCI preferred.

Responsibilities

• Imaging & Technical Precision: position patients and optimize exposure factors to produce high-quality images and data for PACS.
• Patient Care & Safety: administer contrast media and medications within regulatory scope while monitoring patients for adverse activity and radiation safety.
• Clinical Quality Improvement: refine imaging protocols to improve diagnostic accuracy and ensure documentation meets standards.
• Equipment & Facility Oversight: maintain department cleanliness and ensure equipment functionality with routine checks and lock/tag-out procedures.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Imaging & Technical Precision: Accurately position patients and select optimal exposure factors and anatomic parameters to produce and submit high-quality images and data to PACS.
• Patient Care & Safety: Administer contrast media and medications within regulatory scope while monitoring patients for abnormal activity and ensuring strict adherence to radiation protection guidelines.
• Clinical Quality Improvement: Observe and refine imaging protocols as warranted to enhance diagnostic accuracy and ensure all documentation meets departmental standards.
• Equipment & Facility Oversight: Maintain a clean, orderly department and ensure equipment functionality by performing routine checks and implementing lock/tag-out procedures for malfunctions.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• Radiologic Technologist specializing in Vascular-Intrvn Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 15 Months (1 1/4 year) of hire date orjob transfer date required. General Radiography required in addition to Vascular Interventional Radiology. State Radiology Technologist licensure issued by Wisconsin Radiography Examining Board required. General Radiology and state licensure required by hire or job transfer date.

• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) preferred.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
