Job summary

Ascension Saint Joseph in Chicago, IL, is seeking a Radiologic Technologist for the Cardiology Cath Lab. This full-time role with day shifts and on-call requirements supports interventional imaging, contrast administration, and patient monitoring during complex procedures.

• One of: CCI Cardiographic Tech or ARRT Radiologic Technologist (any specialty) before hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and position patients for procedures.
• Administer contrast media and medications per scope and regulations.
• Monitor patient during procedures and report abnormalities.
• Perform specialized imaging procedures (angio, vascular, interventional) and assist Radiologist/PA.
• Follow radiation safety policies and regulatory standards.

How you'll make an impact in this role

• Prepares and positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
• Prepares and administers contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Observes patient during procedure, reports abnormal activity, and monitors protocols to recommend updates or refinements as warranted.
• Able to perform all specialized imaging procedures such as angio, complex vascular and nonvascular interventional and therapeutic procedures, along with assisting the Radiologist/Physician Assistant (PA).
• Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines, ensuring all activities comply with regulatory agency standards.

What Minimum Requirements You'll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Radiologic Technologist credentialed from the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • One or more of the following:
    • Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Any specialty is acceptable.
• Preferred Credential(s):
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
